January 26, 2022 – Boston, MA – Greater Lawrence Sanitary District Executive Director Cheri Cousens was honored today at the New England Water Environment Association’s (NEWEA) Annual Conference held at Boston’s Marriott Hotel / Copley Square.
The tour was organized by NEBRA, which is assisting UConn researchers working to improve anaerobic digestion operations and optimize biogas production at facilities doing co-digestion with food waste. UConn received a grant from the Department of Energy intended to advance resource recovery from wastewater.

The Greater Lawrence Sanitary District’s (GLSD) Contractor, Green Mountain Pipeline, will be rehabilitating a sewer pipeline on Broadway (Route 28) between the intersections of Kirk Street and Park Street. Construction will occur at night to minimize disruption to residents, businesses, and local traffic during the daytime hours. Sewer service will not be disrupted.
